Developer Digital Homicide Suing Jim Sterling, former-Destructoid Journalist

Very recently, the video game development studio, Digital Homicide, has engaged in a lawsuit against the big-man former-Destructoid journalist, Jim Sterling (real name: James Nicholas Stanton). The lawsuit is in regards to what the developers believe is Jim Sterling publishing false allegations towards them and inciting a mob to attack, harass and possibly endanger the developers and their family. The past couple of days have been a strange time to be a Fire Emblem fan. The latest game in the series, Fire Emblem Fates, was applauded by the games press for including homosexual characters without them looking too closely at whatever else is in the game. However, that applause was soon silenced when it was revealed in some way that a lesbian character would be drugged into finding the male protagonist attractive enough to marry. This website is, … Continue reading

Borderlands 2 Writer Outs Destructoid As Corrupt In Wake Of #GamerGate

Former writer at Destructoid and writer for the hit FPS/RPG Borderlands 2, Anthony Burch, has outed his former co-workers at Destructoid for giving favourable reviews to a game that he has worked on. He has given evidence over Twitter as a part of a rant on how he wasn’t targeted by the #GamerGate movement in an attempt to prove that it is a misogynistic, woman-hating, hunting machine. However, this can not be further from the truth as the campaign has led to funding The Fine Young Capitalists, which are aiming to put female developers into gaming positions, as the designer neglects to mention. It is likely that during the kerfuffle, people simply forgot who this writer is. How many times have … Continue reading
