Nobunaga’s Ambition: Souzou Sengoku Risshiden Review

nobunaga-ambition-header

If I had to quickly describe Nobunaga’s Ambition to someone completely unfamiliar with the series, I would say that it is pretty much the Japanese version of the Civilization series. Only, a bit more complicated, and confusing. However, for fans of history, and those that like tactical depth, there could be a lot that would interest those people in Nobunaga’s Ambition. The main story in Nobunaga’s Ambition plays out a little differently depending on which clan you choose in the games Recommended screen on opening the New Game button. However, interestingly, if you choose to go back, you are taken to a menu where you can choose an era and character to play through. It’s honestly a little confusing how … Continue reading

Nights of Azure Review (PlayStation 4)

Gust deserve some credit when it comes to Nights of Azure. This is the first time they have attempted an action RPG and the game is quite a solid effort. Released in 2015 in Japan for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3, Koei Tecmo has brought the game to the West as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. What we get from Nights of Azure is a solid hac and slash action RPG with some interesting elements to add to the classic combo gameplay. With that said, it’s quite easy to power through the game and the story needed some more work. It does have a great soundtrack but the art style is a little bland. The story centres around … Continue reading

Toukiden Kiwami Review

toukiden-kiwami-horo-demon-001

To see Omega Force to develop a game such as Toukiden is quite interesting. Despite their decorated history focusing on musou games such as Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors and the recently enhanced port of Bladestorm, Omega Force dives into the action role playing genre. Toukiden: The Age of Demons was released in June 2013 in Japan and February 2014 in North America and Europe, exclusively for the Playstation Portable (in Japan) and the Playstation Vita. The game was a hit in Japan and an enhanced port, entitled Toukiden Kiwami was developed for the two Playstation handhelds as well as the Playstation 4 (only in the west). It can be safely said, then, that playing Toukiden Kiwami has been an enjoyable … Continue reading
