Sword Art Online II Part 3 Review (Bluray)

Sword Art Online II has returned for its third partial release. The insanely popular anime, created by A-1 Pictures and distributed by Madman here in Australia, returns to the land of fairies and Norse mythology with a short, enjoyable quest to obtain Excalibur and the beginnings of a new arc focusing on Asuna. While they were enjoyable episodes as a whole, the Excalibur arc was quite short. Nonetheless, expect the same outstanding action sequences, excellent animation and enjoyable soundtrack, staples of this great series. Part 3 leaves the world of Gun Gal Online and returns to Alfhiem Online, the game featured in the second half of the first series. After being swallowed by a giant worm, Kirito, Leafa and Yui … Continue reading

Nights of Azure Review (PlayStation 4)

Gust deserve some credit when it comes to Nights of Azure. This is the first time they have attempted an action RPG and the game is quite a solid effort. Released in 2015 in Japan for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3, Koei Tecmo has brought the game to the West as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. What we get from Nights of Azure is a solid hac and slash action RPG with some interesting elements to add to the classic combo gameplay. With that said, it’s quite easy to power through the game and the story needed some more work. It does have a great soundtrack but the art style is a little bland. The story centres around … Continue reading

Rainbow Moon Review (PS4)

Rainbow Moon is a well thought out love letter by SideQuest Studios to all things great about the old school RPG. In a world where the role playing genre of video games push the boundaries of gameplay and visuals, Rainbow Moon sticks with the simplistic, yet enduring gaming elements of years past. First released in 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and seeing a second release in in 2013 on the PlayStation Vita, this third release on the PlayStation 4 combines an easy to learn, yet tricky to master strategic combat system, quirky and bright visuals and a strong soundtrack makes Rainbow Moon a game worth checking out. Unfortunately, don’t expect the plot or characters to be spellbinding, an element that … Continue reading

No One But You Review

Sometimes, it’s great to sit down and play a game or experience a visual novel in short bursts and No One But You, developed by new studio Unwonted Studios, is a very enjoyable visual novel with an interesting story and twists and turns worth knowing about. It stars Hideaki, a high school student moving back to his childhood hometown. The visual novel is quite a solid experience. It’s characters is interesting, the art work is nice to look at and the soundtrack is nice to hear. Of course, expect some bugs that should be patched up as soon as possible. Aside of that, it was a pleasant surprise to see a story with a focus on romance be a very … Continue reading
